Heritage Craftsmanship
Responsible Innovation

Our Commitment
At MAISON de SABRÉ, we’re committed to quality and sustainability. Our products are crafted from premium leather and leather working techniques, while our production process is dedicated to conserving water and supporting sustainable industry standards.
Our leather is sourced exclusively from Gold-Rated European tanneries that operate under the responsible practices of the Leather Working Group.
Crafted from premium full-grain cowhide known for its exceptional strength, hand feel, and durability, our products are made from the highest quality of leather available globally.
Our manufacturers are the innovators of the DriTan™ method, the world’s only water-free leather tanning process, which saves millions of litres of freshwater annually.
Quality Assurance
Our founders are active throughout our production process to ensure that every stage of our material journey embodies our values and quality standards.

Our Leather Journey

Our full-grain hides are sourced from central Europe where farming and animal welfare standards are highest.
Our primary tanning stage uses DriTan™ water-efficient technology, saving millions of litres of freshwater and hundreds of tonnes of sludge annually.
Our leather is re-tanned using a combination of chrome and vegetable tanning methods to achieve the desired fullness, handfeel, and colour.
Once the base colour of the hide is imparted, the leather enters a series of drying and humidity-changing processes.
Once the leather is soft and durable, its final colour, physical properties, and surface characteristics are defined.
Our thorough 13-point testing protocol has been defined by our founders to inspect our finished leather for quality characteristics including composition, colour endurance, and abrasion resistance.
Once the leather has passed our rigorous quality tests, it’s sent to our production partners to be transformed into thoughtfully designed products, which are hand-finished in Australia.
The DriTan™ Method
Our primary tanning stage uses DriTan™ water-efficient technology. The Dri-Tan Method™ is the world’s first leather tanning process that extracts and uses the natural moisture in the raw hide, rather than using freshwater. Since introducing it to our business, we have dramatically reduced our eco footprint.
Uses 33% less tanning ingredients than traditional leather tanning methods.
Saves 20 litres of water per hide – the equivalent of 25 million litres of water per year.
Eliminates 600 tons of chemical sludge per year.

Our Packaging

The MAISON de SABRÉ unboxing experience is sensational, and it’s made even better knowing that all our boxes are made from 98% recycled material.
