LWG Gold Rated Tanneries
Paving a sustainable future, MAISON de SABRÉ is committed to leaving the planet in a better place than how we found it. Full-grain leather is sourced from Gold-Rated European tanneries, which operate under the world’s highest standards, per the Leather Working Group (LWG) initiative. From water and energy use to chemical management and health and safety practices, every production facet is thoroughly scrutinised.
Quality Assurance
Full-grain cowhide, acclaimed for its exceptional strength, hand feel, and durability, is expertly utilised to craft signature MAISON de SABRÉ pieces. To ensure every inch of the MAISON de SABRÉ material journey embodies core values standards, our founders maintain a critical hands-on role from end-to-end. A 13-point testing protocol assesses the quality characteristics of our leather, from composition to colour endurance, in addition to abrasion resistance. Once testing is complete, leather is sent to a production partner where our founders oversee the transformation from hide to final product. Each piece is then meticulously hand-finished in Sydney, Australia, where personalisation is carefully performed.
DriTan™ Technology
Our principal partner, based in the Netherlands, sources all leather from central Europe. They are also a pioneer in leather production, responsible for the world’s most sustainable tanning technology: DriTan™. The revolutionary technique extracts natural moisture from raw hides, saving up to 20 litres of freshwater per hide — the equivalent of 25 million litres of water per year. DriTan™ uses 33% less tanning ingredients than other traditional methods, preventing 600 tons of sludge from entering landfill each year.
